Live Fire Training Enhances Readiness for Real Emergencies
Crystal River, FL - Citrus County Fire Rescue crews participated in live fire training at the Lecanto Fire Training Center, operating inside a purpose-built burn structure designed to replicate real fire conditions.
Firefighters trained on essential skills including incident command, forcible entry, interior fire attack, primary search, victim rescue, and ventilation. Instructor-recorded thermal imaging offered a behind-the-scenes look at heat conditions and operations inside the structure.
Custom window breaching props, built by students at Withlacoochee Technical College, were also used to support hands-on training. Officials say the training plays a critical role in preparing crews to operate safely and effectively on the fireground.
