Wildwood Fire Department Honored D-Day Service Members

Wildwood, N.J. — June 6 — In honor of the service members who took part in the Allied landings in Normandy on June 6, 1944, the City of Wildwood Fire Department, located at 4400 New Jersey Avenue, commemorated the anniversary of D-Day. The department joined communities across the country in recognizing those who served during one of World War II's most critical military operations.


The liberation of Western Europe from Nazi rule began when thousands of Allied soldiers landed on the beaches of Normandy. Many lost their lives during the operation. The ceremony praised their dedication, sacrifice and lasting impact while encouraged future generations to remember this significant chapter in history.
