Crystal River, FL - Crystal River Fire Department firefighters recently participated in hands-on training designed to simulate operations in all-hazard environments while wearing full turnout gear and SCBA.

The scenario challenged crews to locate and manipulate objects by touch, replicating low-visibility conditions commonly encountered during emergency incidents.

These drills reinforced critical skills, including situational awareness, teamwork and communication while on air, fine motor function while wearing structural firefighting gloves, proficiency with SCBA equipment, problem-solving under realistic conditions, and forcible entry techniques.

Training of this nature ensures personnel remain prepared to respond safely and effectively, building muscle memory, sharpening decision-making, and strengthening the teamwork essential on the fireground.
