New Vernon Firefighters Conduct Drafting Drill at Mt. Kemble Lake

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

To improve water supply operations, the New Vernon Volunteer Fire Department held a drafting drill at Mt. Kemble Lake on June 11.

Firefighters practiced drafting water from the lake, which is a crucial ability when hydrants are not available during emergency situations, according to officials. Crews were able to retain skill in generating a dependable water supply and enhance pump operations thanks to the practical training. Firefighters created a positive community engagement on a humid summer evening by allowing local kids to cool themselves with a fire truck spray after the drill.
