Rangeley Fire Rescue Hosts Wildfire and HazMat Training Sessions

Rangeley, ME - Rangeley Fire Rescue recently hosted two training programs focused on wildfire risk reduction and hazardous materials response.


Town officials and regional first responders took part in Wildfire Home Assessment Training through the National Volunteer Fire Council’s Wildland Fire Assessment Program in partnership with the Maine Forest Service. The session focused on identifying wildfire risks and reducing property vulnerability.


Members of Rangeley Fire Rescue and the Center Ossipee Fire Department also began a Hazardous Materials Technician course covering response to chemical incidents, including identification, monitoring, decontamination, and containment.


Officials said the training strengthens regional preparedness and emergency response capabilities.
