Conklin, N.Y. — May 31 — Firefighters from all around the county attended a Broome County Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) training course presented by the Conklin Volunteer Fire Department. The seminar, which was sponsored by the Broome County Fire Chiefs Association and the Broome County Fire Coordinators Office, concentrated on methods for finding, rescuing, and removing firefighters who are in danger during emergency situations.

The practical training was finished by firefighters from Harpursville, Windsor, West Windsor, Endicott, Vestal, Chenango Bridge, East Maine, Five Mile Point, and Conklin. The training improved participant agencies' preparedness for emergency operations across Broome County, increased mutual aid relationships, and reaffirmed firefighter safety procedures.
