This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Woodstock, CT. — May 31 — Woodstock Vol Fire Association members. In order to improve coordination during emergency situations, Sta 76 and Woodstock EMS finished an air medical operations training exercise with Hartford HealthCare LifeStar. Helicopter landing zone setup, scene safety, communications, and patient transfer protocols between air teams and ground staff were all covered in the workshop.

The UMass Memorial LifeFlight was supposed to take part, however before the practice started, they had to respond to an emergency call. Firefighters and EMS staff were able to review safe landing zone procedures, enhance interagency collaboration, and strengthen operational readiness thanks to the training. Such exercises made sure that responders were ready when critically ill or injured patients needed air medical transport.
