Selkirk, NY - Selkirk Fire crews recently took part in a hands-on training session focused on pulling hand lines, advancing hose lines, and flowing water safely and effectively.
A special thanks goes to the Coeymans Hollow Volunteer Fire Corp. for bringing their tanker to train alongside Station 3. Together, the crews reviewed each other's equipment and visited local drafting sites in the South Bethlehem area.
These drafting locations are essential during fires in areas without hydrants, allowing tanker trucks to quickly refill their water supply and maintain a steady flow of water to the scene. Regular joint training like this helps ensure firefighters are prepared to respond efficiently when every second counts.
