Members of the Blue Hill Fire Department played dodgeball while donning full turnout gear on June 23rd as part of a novel training exercise that blended physical exercise with the development of firefighter skills.

Self-contained breathing equipment (SCBA) operations and air supply management under physically demanding situations were the main topics of the training, according to officials. Firefighters were able to practice operating their SCBA equipment, keeping an eye on air usage, and working efficiently while donning full protective gear throughout the exercise.
