This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

To improve firefighting techniques and foster regional collaboration, members of the Blue Hill Fire Department organized a real home burn and training exercise with a number of nearby fire departments on May 31.

According to officials, firefighters gave personnel practical experience in coordinated response techniques, fireground operations, and fire suppression through hands-on training in a donated building. Members from other departments were also able to practice together in an environment akin to that of real-world structure fires.

The participation of the Guide Rock Volunteer Fire Department, Red Cloud Volunteer Fire Department, Bladen Fire Department, and Hastings Rural Volunteer Fire Department was acknowledged by department officials. Joint training opportunities, according to officials, enhance coordination and guarantee that firemen are always ready to handle situations.
