New Milford, CT. — June 14 — Hunter Goddard and Julien Donato, probationary members of Water Witch Hose Co. #2 of New Milford, have successfully finished Connecticut's Firefighter 1 course at the Litchfield County Regional Fire School. In addition to their regular occupations, the two members completed over 180 hours of classroom instruction, practical skill training, and live-fire exercises.

They obtained certification as interior firefighters, enabling them to carry out structural firefighting tasks. The fundamental abilities required for emergency response and firefighter safety are taught in Firefighter 1 training. In addition to adding two newly trained firefighters to the department's response roster, their achievement improved the department's operational readiness.
