Citrus County Fire Rescue Enhances Water Rescue Training with New Rip Current Simulator

Citrus, FL - Citrus County Fire Rescue personnel joined county lifeguards for specialized water rescue training using the new Swim Slipstream™ Florida Rip Current Training System.
The innovative training equipment allows first responders to safely experience simulated rip current conditions in a controlled environment, helping improve rescue techniques, water safety awareness, and public education efforts. The system will also support future community outreach programs alongside local partners.
The equipment and training were provided at no cost to Citrus County taxpayers through support from the Florida Department of Children and Families.
