Fall River, MA - Several Fall River Firefighters recently completed the Saving Ourselves program conducted by the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy and funded through an Assistance to Firefighters Grant.
The course focuses on teaching firefighters how to rapidly escape life threatening conditions inside a structure when fire behavior changes suddenly. As part of the training, firefighters practiced window bailout techniques, including the Hook Two Grab Four method, designed for quick and controlled exits.
All evolutions were conducted in a controlled environment with safety measures in place, including belay systems and secured ladders.
