Thomaston, CT. — May 30 — For a day of training and fun competition, the Thomaston Volunteer Fire Department organized its third annual Junior Muster, which brought together young firefighters from several departments in the area. The event, which was organized in collaboration with the Northfield Volunteer Fire Company, included team-based tasks that improved communication, cooperation, and firefighting abilities.

Youth fire service programs continue to be popular, as evidenced by the muster's highest turnout to date. Junior members developed connections with nearby departments while gaining practical experience. By promoting leadership, teamwork, and practical fireground abilities in a secure and encouraging training setting, events like the Junior Muster aid in the preparation of future firefighters.
