This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Terryville, CT. — June 15 — To improve rural water supply operations, the Terryville Volunteer Fire Department held a tanker shuttle simulation close to the Terryville Fairgrounds. Firefighters practiced moving water between a remote source and a simulated fire scene while operating various equipment across the training area. Enhancing coordination, equipment location, and effective water supply in hydrant-free regions were the main goals of the exercise.

During the rehearsal, nearby roads were used by emergency vehicles, so drivers and pedestrians were asked to use caution. Frequent tanker shuttle training enhances operational readiness for crises throughout the department's response area and helps firefighters retain the skills necessary to deliver a dependable water supply.
