Three Departments Train on Complex Rescue Scenarios in Essex

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Members of the Deep River Fire Department participated in a multi-department vehicle extrication training in Essex on June 23rd alongside firefighters from the Chester and Essex fire departments.

Firefighters practiced three different crash scenarios involving one car lying on top of another, according to officials. Participants split up into three teams after merging into a single group, and each team was given a different rescue scenario. Before removing the bottom car and gaining access to possible occupants, crews stabilized the upper vehicle using specialist extrication tools.

According to department commanders, the training gave firemen from other organizations a chance to collaborate, share ideas, and try new methods and tools in a practical environment.
