Using the smoke trailer from the Connecticut Fire Academy, members of the Deep River Fire Department underwent specialized training on June 18th to hone critical fireground abilities.

According to officials, firefighters received training in a smoke-filled, sweltering, low-visibility setting that mimics the circumstances of real-world building fires. The realistic exercise reinforced important firefighting procedures while giving firefighters a chance to practice working safely in difficult situations.

Hose advancement, search and rescue operations, and maneuvering through fire simulations were all included in the training.
