Brooksville, FL - Hernando County Fire Rescue crews are participating in obstetrics simulation training in partnership with HCA Healthcare at the new Oak Hill South campus.
The exercise places responders in a simulated scenario involving an imminent childbirth, requiring crews to assess, report, and transport a patient to the hospital. Upon arrival, care is transferred to the emergency department team, who then manage a simulated uterine hemorrhage.
The joint training is designed to strengthen coordination between EMS and hospital staff while helping personnel become familiar with the new facility and its procedures. Officials noted the exercise provides valuable hands-on experience in managing time-sensitive obstetric emergencies.
