Elementary Students Learned Emergency Safety Skills

Vestal, N.Y. — May 21 — Students from Ross Corners Elementary School were invited to Station 3 by the Vestal Fire Department for a program on fire safety and prevention. Firefighters gave lessons on emergency readiness, fire prevention, and the significance of identifying home safety issues during the visit. In addition, students took part in safety drills intended to reinforce important emergency response procedures, learnt about firefighting equipment, and took a tour of the station.


Public education initiatives, according to department officials, assist kids form safe behaviors and raise understanding of fire safety at a young age. Additionally, the program gave children a chance to learn more about the daily role firefighters perform in community protection.
