Six Mile Run, PA. — May 25 — In observance of Memorial Day, the Six Mile Run Area Volunteer Fire Co. paid tribute to US military personnel who died while serving their country. The yearly event honored the families who continue to pay tribute to their loved ones as well as the sacrifices made by military members throughout the nation's history.


Department employees contemplated the holiday's importance alongside communities around the country. Memorial Day, according to officials, is a chance to honor those who lost their lives defending the country. The government urged locals to honor the sacrifice and service of the nation's fallen military personnel over the holiday weekend.
