Firefighters Sharpen Fire Attack and VES Skills During Training

Firefighters from the Mattydale Fire Department and members of the Hinsdale Volunteer Fire Department took part in their yearly live fire drill at the Clay Fire Department Training Tower on May 30.


According to officials, firefighters participated in live fire evolutions intended to hone vital fireground abilities in a safe training setting. In order to find and rescue inhabitants while reducing fire conditions, crews concentrated on fire attack operations and Vent, Enter, Search (VES) procedures, which are frequently utilized during structure fire responses.


Realistic live fire training, according to department commanders, helps firefighters maintain skill in critical firefighting techniques, enhance teamwork, and gain confidence. Additionally, the exercise gave participants invaluable experience working in situations that are comparable to real-world emergencies.
