This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

The Westmere Fire Department held a training course on car extrication techniques and the use of the department's eDRAULIC Hurst rescue equipment on June 9.

According to officials, firemen rehearsed skills like window and door removal, which are frequently employed in motor vehicle rescue situations, and reviewed tool operations. In order to enhance control and equipment familiarity, crews also took part in accuracy exercises.

In order to help members acquire the dexterity and accuracy required when working around confined patients during extrication occurrences, one of the drills required firemen to use the rescue gear to pick up and move an egg without causing damage.
