Probationary members Michael Remington and Jodi Hartman joined the Carthage Fire Department on May 16th. Remington, who was born in Ellisburg and currently resides in Carthage, is excited to start firefighter training, including Basic Exterior Firefighting Operations (BEFO) and Interior Firefighting Operations (IFO), according to officials. He was motivated to enter the fire service by his father, a former chief of the Ellisburg Fire Department, according to department officials. Hartman joined the department as an EMT and presently works for several Jefferson County emergency services organizations.
