Newburgh FD responded to Downing Park off of Carpenter Ave. to set up a landing zone for multiple medevacs that were landing in the park on June 16th. A serious MVA on the thruway had multiple injured parties. Helicopters were seen landing at Montefore St. Lukes Helipad then lifting off and landing in the park. Four medevacs landed in the park. Firefighters set up the landing zone and kept people away that were in the park. Three ambulances arrived on scene. New Windsor EMS placed the victim on a stretcher and carried to the medevac. The medevac lifted off and was enroute to Westchester Medical Center. All others went there also.
