Guilderland, NY - Members of the Guilderland Fire Department recently took part in live fire training sessions focused on skill development and operational readiness.

Several firefighters successfully completed final evaluations to earn their Class A Interior Firefighter certification and were presented with helmet shields recognizing their advancement. The achievement marked their transition to fully qualified interior firefighters.

Newer members trained on foundational skills such as water supply, ladder operations, and equipment use, while experienced firefighters refined interior attack, search, ventilation, and other fire ground techniques.

Officials noted that the training reinforced teamwork and the importance of every role on the fire ground.
