PEMBROKE, VA. — May 26th — In order to teach pupils about safe driving habits, members of the Pembroke Volunteer Fire Department, which is headquartered at 102 Cascade Drive in Pembroke, took part in a simulated crash demonstration at Giles High School. The incident brought attention to the risks of inattentive and drunk driving while offering a genuine glimpse into how emergency personnel handle catastrophic auto accidents.
Together, volunteers from the community, firefighters, EMS workers, and school staff presented the exercise and talked about the repercussions of making risky decisions while driving. Lorie Hale, Brian Gillispie, Emma Mills, John Hale, Trevor Hale, and Carson were among the participants who the organizers acknowledged for their contributions to the program's success. The incident served as a reminder to young drivers of the value of safe driving practices.
