Emergency Services Agencies Paid Tribute to Fallen Firefighter

DENNYSVILLE, ME. — May 15th — Following a line-of-duty incident in Searsmont, the Denny's River Volunteer Fire Department joined fire departments throughout Maine and New England in paying tribute to Firefighter Andrew Cross of the Morrill Fire Department. As departments offered assistance for Cross's family, other firefighters, and everyone impacted by the incident, the loss was felt throughout the emergency services community.


Firefighter Cross was noted for his devotion to community safety and public service. The event also brought attention to the dangers that firemen encounter when responding to crises. Departments throughout the area acknowledged Cross's service and long-lasting contribution to the fire service while recovery operations for injured personnel proceeded.
