Firefighter Lance Lemieux, a longstanding member of the Franklin County fire service community and Wilton Fire & Rescue, passed away on May 22.

Throughout his fire service career, Lemieux shown commitment, professionalism, and compassion for the communities of Wilton and Jay, according to officials. His fellow firefighters recalled him as a dedicated employee who continuously helped his coworkers and the community.

Members of the department also considered Lemieux's tenacity and resolve throughout his sickness, pointing out that his fortitude and upbeat outlook continued to motivate others. His passing was felt deeply throughout the department and the broader fire service community. Officials extended their condolences to his family, friends, and fellow firefighters as they mourn the loss of a respected firefighter and friend.
