CROMWELL, CT. — June 11th — After Zack DeFrance obtained certification as a volunteer fireman, the Cromwell Fire Department "Official" acknowledged him. The accomplishment comes after firefighters have finished training that equips them for emergency response, fire suppression, rescue operations, and public safety responsibilities. According to department officials, certification is a big step for new firefighters.

DeFrance becomes one of the department's skilled firefighters and will assist with neighborhood emergency operations. As he embarks on the next phase of his fire service career to serve the people of Cromwell and the neighboring areas, department members congratulated him on his achievement and wished him well.
