Department Paid Tribute to Firefighter Andrew Cross

LIBERTY, ME — May 15th — Following the line-of-duty death of Andrew Cross of the Morrill Volunteer Fire Department, Liberty Fire & Rescue joined firemen and emergency responders throughout Maine in paying tribute to him. During a trying time for the Maine fire service community, the department sent condolences to Cross's family, friends, and fellow firefighters. Volunteer firemen, who frequently respond to crises while juggling work and family obligations, are essential to the safety of their communities.


The state, where departments frequently assist one another through training collaborations and mutual aid, was affected by Cross's passing. His dedication to public service and his services to his community were acknowledged by Liberty Fire & Rescue. Additionally, the department offered condolences to the Morrill Volunteer Fire Department members who were grieving the loss of a fellow fireman.
