Vehicle Extrication Training Enhances Rescue Capabilities
Barrow, GA - Barrow County Fire Department personnel participated in a multi-day, department-wide vehicle extrication training designed to strengthen the skills and coordination required to safely remove trapped patients from motor vehicle accidents.
Crews rotated through hands-on scenarios covering vehicle stabilization, glass management, door and roof removal, dash displacement, patient access, and disentanglement techniques. The realistic training evolutions allowed personnel to refine critical skills while operating in challenging conditions.
This training reinforced preparedness for one of the most common and complex emergency responses, ensuring crews are equipped to deliver effective rescue operations when needed.
The department also recognized community partners for providing vehicles used during the training, supporting the delivery of realistic, hands-on instruction.
