Belfast Fire and EMS Mourns Longtime Volunteer Harold Dyer

BELFAST, ME — May 28th — Harold Dyer, a longstanding volunteer fireman and public servant who served the town for decades, is being honored by Belfast Fire and EMS. Dyer spent 42 years working for the Belfast Water District and 47 years volunteering as a firefighter for the City of Belfast. Throughout his career, he supported public infrastructure and emergency response, and he was well-known for his commitment and strong work ethic.


Dyer received recognition from the agency in 2024 for his nearly fifty years of volunteer work. According to his coworkers, he stayed dedicated to the community he served and was always prepared to lend a hand. In Belfast, Dyer leaves a long-lasting legacy of civic service.
