Upson, GA - Members of Thurston Volunteer Fire & Rescue participated in a joint training exercise with Northside Volunteer Fire Rescue, focusing on the “Denver Drill,” a high-risk firefighter rescue scenario.
The training emphasized removing downed firefighters or patients from confined spaces or windows under stressful conditions, while reinforcing teamwork, rapid intervention, mayday procedures, and self-rescue techniques.
Crews will continue mayday and self-rescue training in the coming weeks to further strengthen critical skills and interagency coordination
