Bangor EMS Members Earn National Field Training Officer Credentials

Members of the Bangor Fire Department obtained national credentials as EMS Field Training Officers on June 4th after completing a three-day EMS Field Training Officer (FTO) course.


According to officials, the curriculum taught the framework, instruments, methods, and ideas necessary for EMS field training. Adult learning principles, coaching techniques, trainee evaluation, effective feedback, and performance recording utilizing nationally accepted standards were all taught to participants.


The certification, according to department management, is a significant step in improving the development of future EMS providers and bolstering the department's EMS field training program. Officials commended EMS Division Chief Ogden, Firefighter/Paramedics Brichetto, Aucoin, Stahl, and White, as well as Lieutenant/Paramedics Titus and Layman, for their dedication to patient care excellence and professional development.
