A dog that had fallen over a cliff close to the First Water Falls location along East B Hill Road prompted the Andover Maine Volunteer Fire Department to respond to a rescue call on June 4.
The dog's owner was unable to safely rescue the animal, according to officials, and the event happened around 5.5 miles along East B Hill Road. After arriving in the isolated spot, firefighters worked to gain access and securely retrieve the dog.
The dog was successfully rescued and returned to dry land unharmed. The animal was damp from the experience but otherwise unhurt, according to officials.
