AUBURN, NH — May 21st — As part of the New Hampshire CPR Challenge, the Auburn Fire Department and Brian Croteau of Milestone CPR organized a Hands-Only CPR training event at the Safety Complex. The program's goal was to increase community members' awareness and teach them how to handle cardiac emergencies before emergency medical personnel arrive. The two fundamental stages of Hands-Only CPR were taught to the participants: dial 911 and start doing rapid, forceful chest compressions.

Health professionals claim that performing CPR right after during a sudden cardiac arrest can increase survival rates. In order to improve public safety and emergency readiness in the neighborhood, department officials thanked participants and members who helped with the event.
