WISCASSET, ME — May 10th — On Mother's Day, the Wiscasset Fire Department honored the moms of firefighters and the female employees. Officials pointed out that many of the traits required for emergency service, such as accountability, commitment, and helping others, are frequently initially acquired at home. Mothers are crucial in helping firemen throughout their lives and professions.

The department also recognized the increasing number of women working in emergency and fire services, holding leadership, administrative, training, and operational roles. The Mother's Day message conveyed gratitude for the leadership, assistance, and dedication moms offer to families, communities, and the fire service.
