ATHENS, GA — May 10th — In appreciation of moms, grandmothers, stepmothers, and other caregivers for their contributions to families and communities, the South Jackson Fire Department joined communities across in celebrating Mother's Day. The event brought attention to the critical role mothers play in assisting public safety and first responders. While serving their communities, many firefighters, paramedics, and dispatchers rely heavily on their families.

Mothers work in emergency services, protecting residents while juggling family obligations, according to department officials.
