Firefighter McDaris was acknowledged by Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services on May 10 for effectively finishing his probationary year.
McDaris joined Station 3 a year ago, according to officials, and throughout his training and fieldwork, he continuously showed commitment, professionalism, and a good work ethic. While preparing him for long-term service, the probationary period assessed his personal character and job performance.
McDaris completed a challenging obstacle course intended to mimic fireground tasks as part of the finishing procedure. His probation came to an end with the last event, a hose crawl with his black shield fastened to the nozzle. Members of the department congratulated him on reaching this milestone and on his future in the fire service.
