AVON PARK, Fla. — May 25th — In commemoration of the men and women of the US Armed Forces who lost their lives while serving their country, the Avon Park Fire Department observed Memorial Day. The event honored the dead service men' contributions as well as the families who are still carrying on their legacy. Every year, ceremonies, community events, and moments of remembering are held across the nation to commemorate Memorial Day.

While having a safe weekend, department representatives urged locals to consider the importance of the holiday. In addition, members of the emergency services community joined in honoring those who served and made sacrifices, demonstrating the dedication and common commitment to public service that unites emergency response and military personnel.
