CENTERPORT, PA. — May 4th — In observance of International firemen' Day, Central Berks Fire Company honored firemen who serve communities worldwide. Every year on May 4th, people celebrate the commitment of professional and volunteer firefighters and their services to public safety. Along with future recruits getting ready to enter the field, the celebration honors veteran firefighters whose contribution shaped the fire service.


The event is used by fire departments all across the world to emphasize the value of community service, teamwork, and training. International firemen' Day, according to department officials, serves as a reminder of the continuous dedication firemen make to safeguarding people, property, and the communities they serve on a daily basis.
