MOHNTON, Pa. — May 6th — Neighboring firefighters and members of the Brecknock Township Volunteer Fire Department, located at 1153 Kurtz Mill Road, participated in a smoke maze-focused search and rescue drill. Company 57 and Company 72 firefighters collaborated to enhance communication on the fireground and practice locating individuals in low visibility situations. Crews were able to hone their search methods in a controlled setting through the practical exercise.

Training with mutual assistance partners improves coordination during emergency responses and helps firefighters become more familiar with each other's protocols. In order to keep firemen ready to carry out effective search operations and assist nearby departments across the region, the exercise emphasized the significance of routine training.
