Stuyvesant Firefighters Completed BEFO Training Program

STUYVESANT, NY — May 5th — Jordan Steele-Scalzi and Kaden Blasi, two firefighters from Stuyvesant Fire Company #1, were recognized for completing the Basic Exterior Firefighting Operations (BEFO) course in Columbia County. The BEFO curriculum offers crucial instruction in emergency response protocols, equipment utilization, firefighter safety, and fireground operations. A crucial step in training new firefighters for their future roles within the fire department is finishing the course.


All graduates received congratulations from department leaders for their dedication to professional growth and training. In order to assist firefighters develop their abilities, stay prepared, and effectively serve the communities they protect, ongoing education is still a crucial component of emergency services.
