Thomas Cook received recognition on May 28th from the Matawan Fire Department and Washington Engine Company No. 1 for completing the Monmouth County Fire Academy's Junior Firefighter Program.

Cook successfully finished the program, according to officials, because to his passion to learning the fire service, hard work, and dedication. In order to prepare young participants for future involvement in emergency services, the Junior Firefighter Program offers them practical experience and fundamental information.

Members of the department commended Cook's efforts throughout the program and congratulated him on reaching the milestone.
