Cortland FD Welcomes New Academy Graduates

CORTLAND, N.Y. — May 21st — Roman and Langtry were recognized as probationary firefighters by the City of Cortland Fire Department, located at 21 Court Street, after they completed the New York State Recruit Firefighter Training Program. The two finished a 15-week residential fire school that covered emergency response techniques, firefighter safety, rescue operations, live-fire training, and classroom education. New firemen are prepared for the demands of serving their communities through this curriculum.


As they start their careers with the department, their graduation represents a significant turning point. Department authorities stated that a strong commitment to public service, discipline, and dedication were necessary to complete the school. While helping the people of Cortland, Roman and Langtry will continue their training and fieldwork.
