BENDERSVILLE, Pa. — May 25th — Members of the Bendersville Community Fire Department, situated at 144 Park Street, joined Adams County citizens in commemorating Memorial Day and paying tribute to those who served in the armed forces. Memorial Day is a national holiday honoring those who gave their lives while serving in the armed forces. Ceremonies, memorial events, and memorials to deceased service personnel were held around Pennsylvania to commemorate the occasion.

The holiday honors the common ideals of service, devotion, and commitment to others for the emergency services community. Throughout the holiday weekend, firefighters encouraged locals to celebrate responsibly and safely while remaining prepared to respond to emergency calls.
