Westport, CT - Members of the Westport Fire Department recently trained alongside Westport EMS as part of an ongoing initiative to enhance coordination and integration between the two agencies—ultimately improving patient outcomes in emergency situations.

The session provided firefighters with hands-on insight into the equipment, medications, and procedures used by paramedics, including IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, and advanced life support interventions.

With all Westport firefighters certified as EMTs, this collaborative training further strengthens their ability to effectively support paramedics on scene, streamline patient care, and elevate the overall emergency medical response within the community.
