LYME, CONN. — May 19th — At Hamburg Fire Station, the Lyme Fire Company held a practical training session that gave firemen a chance to hone a number of important fireground skills. Several training rotations on apparatus setup, pumping operations, forceful entry, and hoseline movement to a simulated fire area were conducted that evening. As they worked with other crew members at each station, firefighters gained real-world experience.

The purpose of the training was to enhance staff cooperation and reinforce techniques frequently employed during structure fire responses. Members were able to practice equipment operation, communication, and tactical decision-making in a controlled setting by integrating many disciplines into a single session. According to officials, the training helped preserve preparedness for future disaster situations and provided all participants with invaluable practical experience.
