MONTAGUE, MA. — May 14th — Together with personnel from the Turners Falls and Erving fire departments, firemen from the Montague Center Fire Department - Inc. 1941 took part in a hands-on training exercise at a donated home. The acquired building allowed crews to perform search operations, ventilation, hose deployment, and fireground coordination in a realistic environment. Additionally, training with local agencies improved mutual aid relationships and communication during emergencies.
According to officials, donated buildings provide important educational opportunities that cannot be fully replicated in a classroom setting. The agency praised the landowner for making the property available so that firefighters could gain practical training that supports safe and effective emergency response throughout the region.
