The Trumbull Fire Departments will hold the 2026 Bridgeport Area Retired Firefighters Memorial Service on June 2 at 7 p.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, according to the Long Hill Volunteer Fire Company No. 1.

According to officials, the yearly ceremony honors Bridgeport area firemen who lost their lives while performing their duties. To honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, firefighters, retirees, family members, and community supporters gather for the event.

Every year, the memorial service in Trumbull honors Long Hill Fire Department Assistant Chief Chester J. Main and Nichols Fire Department Assistant Chief George C. Butz for their sacrifice and devotion.
